Originally from Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Barrat graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Linguistics, she is completing a second Law degree from UNISA.
Through Lawyered Up, Barrat aims to positively contribute to the growth of the economy through active social collaboration, partnerships and creating more job opportunities for lawyers in any region, industry and time-zone.
In a world where legal processes are generally expensive, time-consuming, and intimidating for businesses, Lawyered Up is a new digital platform providing packages to make it easier for Start-ups and SMMEs to get access to legal help from anywhere in the world.
Having being selected as a semi-finalist for Forbes Africa 30 under 30 in 2022, accepted into the Grindstone incubator program in 2022, awarded Top 50 Influential Global Leaders Award in Dubai in 2022 , top 3 startups at AfricaRena in 2021 along side her numerous other accolades
